Thinkwrap Discovery

Structured assessment and planning in advance of a project provides important input and supports the eventual success of the project. The Thinkwrap Discovery Service is designed to lead your company through a set of well designed and integrated discovery, evaluation and planning processes to help assure the eventual success as well as unlock additional value from your project. The Thinkwrap Discovery Service provides your company with a well-defined approach to guide the project and increase your probability of a successful outcome.

Overview

The Discovery Service follows a proven five-step methodology. These steps are designed to assess the current status, functional, technical, and corporate/user readiness baseline for your company and then determine the ideal future solution based on this information.

  1. Prepare - Initial preparation comprises requirements gathering, project kickoff, stakeholder identification, and establishment of major timelines and project duration.
  2. Assess - An assessment of your current environment, including analysis of project drivers, risks, functional, technical, and process considerations. Upon completion of this Current Environment "As-Is" Assessment, gaps are identified and targeted.
  3. Conceptualize - Involves facilitating the understanding of the new system through a combination of: white board discussion, demonstration and solution walkthrough. This step is designed to help determine the expected benefits and prioritize the requirements of the new system.
  4. Plan - This step determines and outlines the most effective way to implement the new system, both technically and functionally. In addition, potential user and process impacts will be outlined to help determine the best change management strategy.
  5. Recommend - A comprehensive Project Charter includes a general project plan, schedule, resource requirements, infrastructure and implementation plan and detailed cost estimate to carry out the complete project. A general approach or methodology will also be suggested based on scope, complexity, organizational impact, risks and corporate culture.

The Thinkwrap Discovery Service includes the following activities:

  • Identification of business drivers, expected benefits, risks and success factors
  • Facilitating executive support and identifying other stakeholders
  • Identifying and mutually agreeing upon business process scope
  • Establishing project assumptions and constraints and obtaining sign off
  • Understanding various paths and factors influencing the timeline
  • Quantifying potential resource responsibilities and process impacts
  • Documenting project risks and reviewing mitigation strategies
  • Identifying key project milestones

The Discovery kickoff is preceded by a Thinkwrap assessment. Our Discovery tool is used to capture a broad spectrum of relevant information about your company and your project. This provides Thinknostic consultants with important baseline information that will be used throughout the project. During the project the customer will need to provide appropriate technical and functional expertise to work closely with Thinknostic. In addition, the customer will need to support Thinknostic efforts to determine the appropriate future environment and organizational requirements necessary to assure a successful project plan.
